Helen Mirren's Queen Elizabeth will take crowning awards when the season of statues and globes begin. Not a single performance, male or female, this year can grace the skirts of this perfectly generated character. Helen Mirren is long overdue for honors for her work and 2006 should seal her fate. There is strong possibilities that the film too will be nominated as Best Picture for it's grace, style, humor and, by all means, the cast. Whether or not we get an actual true view into who this woman, Queen Elizabeth, is, we come away with a love for her traditions and her growth within her soul for her people. A MUST SEE WITH A FIVE HANKY, five being best, RATING.
