Editorial Review for Pacific Seafood – by Debra Cooper Wickstrom
The Scene:
Pacific Seafood's regular fish selection includes Snapper, Monkfish, Shark, Sea Bass, and Swordfish, but you might want to get there early if you have a particular preference; the fish is delivered fresh daily and quantities can be limited. Be sure to ask about specials like cilantro-ginger crusted Salmon and other tasty creations from the kitchen. Even children's picky palates will be satisfied by the kids' menu of fish and chips, deep-fried clam strips, chicken strips, or even hamburgers. The restaurant is ideally arranged for small parties of four or less, so reservations are recommended if you have a larger group.
If you order one thing:
Try specials like the Roasted Halibut with capers, sun-dried tomatoes, and a basil vinaigrette.

my family and i have frequented this restaurant for over twenty years, and have consistently been very happy with the service and food! pacific seafood is very well-known for big portions! it's nice to see a restaurant that is traditional! you still get soup (yummy chowder, but shrimp bisque is my fav) or salad and sourdough bread WITH your dinner! the cioppino is hands down my favorite, and i always have enough for lunch the next day-and i'm a very good eater! :) all their fried seafood items are very obviously hand breaded and NOT of the greasy or frozen variety. Our regular waiter in the enclosed patio, makes us always feel at home! with the competitive restaurant market in fresno (too many chains!!!!!), there is something to be said for a restaurant staying in business for over twenty-five years! it's too bad that someone had a not so glowing experience there, they should try it again! p.s. i've also heard that they do very reasonable caterings of just about every variety!
Pros: food, service, banquet room, great kids menu
Cons: closed between lunch and dinner hours

Diner food at fancy restaurant prices. You get little value for your money. Prawn coctail was 4 medium shrimp for $9. Halibut special was made out of rubbery frozen fish. Portion was small; quality was not worth $24. Salad with seafood on top was disappointing. Lettuce was rough, not much seafood and not much else in the $15 salad. Decor of the restaurant is shabby. They do have table cloths, but it means nothing. The tableware and silvervare is high school cafeteria quality. This is not the fancy restaurant they are trying to pass it as.
Pros: Friendly accurate service
Cons: Diner quality food at high end restaurant prices. Shabby appearance.
