Editorial Review for Crossroads Lounge – by Barbara E. Hernandez
The Scene:
Situated in the unlikely setting of a suburban shopping center, the Crossroad Lounge provides live entertainment each weekend, a strange hybrid of country and western and alternative rock. Aside from dancing and drinking, patrons can also play darts and pool while the band belts out a Tracy Chapman tune or a half-dozen couples linedance to "Achy, Breaky Heart."
Must Have Drinks:
Corona.

Crossroads is a really cool place to go to hear some great music, dance and enjoy yourself... without denting the ol wallet. The first thing I notice is how good of a crowd is there... everyone just has a good time, no dumb bar drama. The bartenders are awesome chicks and give healthy pours and they have a great happy hour. The MUST SEE is Ron Thompson every Thursday who brings down the house with every note he plays...for NO COVER! He is a world class musician who has played with all the huge names like Stevie Ray Vaughn, BB King, Fleetwood Mac, and Etta James. Any name/band you see, you're able to get within a couple of feet of them and you'll always get to meet em and probably have a drink at the bar with them. I highly Recommend this place. Take note that the cops really watch this place like a hawk so don't get suprised if you get pulled over just for pulling out of the parking lot!Crossroads is a really cool place to go to hear some great music, dance and enjoy yourself... without denting the ol wallet. The Crossroads is a typical biker bar located in a decayed, run down, shopping center, in central Fresno. The staff is friendly, and efficient. I would never come here just to have drinks. The one reason to come here is the music. Many great professional bands play here. The Junior Brown show that I saw here was incredible. The sound system is terrible, and usually so is the person on the mixing board. Many good local bands also play here. On most Thursdays at 6 PM, Ron Thompson plays for a few hours. There is no cover charge, and Ron is one of the great musicians you will ever see. Try to check him out.
Pros: Friendly staff, good live music
Cons: dumpy bar
